George Nell (Snr) started this business with his son in 2004.
George (Snr) is now retired, but an active consultant with more than 60 years of taxidermy experience, part-time and full-time, in the family business. He started his taxidermy career in 1948 at the age of 12 years.
His tutor/mentor was a well known correspondence school in America, namely The Northwestern School of Taxidermy in Ohama, Nebraska in the USA. During the period of 2002 – 2008 George trained more than 180 students in practical courses in the field of shoulder- and bird mounting. These students came from all over South Africa of which some of them are now operating their own profitable Taxidermy businesses.
George Nell (Jnr) is the owner of George Nell and Son Taxidermy.
George is a practicing Attorney that specializes in the new Firearms Act and Insolvencies. His practice office is on the same premises as the Taxidermy business and George keeps his eye 24 hours on all activities.
Each firearms act related client that comes to the practice office is being introduced to the Taxidermy showroom.
George is a nature lover by heart and spends as much time as possible being in the bushveld.
George currently serves on the management of the South African Hunter and Game Conservation Association as Legal Adviser. In this field he already made his mark.
He is also active with his pen and for almost 2 years publishes his informative articles in the SA Hunters for the hunters and firearm owners, which deals with the Firearm Act.
